Collaboration with Ilm Ideas for 2015!

We are pleased to announce that Rabtt has partnered with Ilm Ideas for Rabtt Summer Camps, Graduation Ceremony, and summer component of Rabtt Fellowship Program in 2015. Ilm Ideas is a three-year, DFID funded program to award grants nationwide for increasing access to quality education in Pakistan for children in grades 1 – 10. Ilm Ideas seeks to fund research studies to inform policy and strategic interventions, evidence based advocacy to increase public demand for greater transparency and accountability, and innovative solutions to the challenges faced in access to quality education in Pakistan.

Rabtt Fellows 2014 – Culmination Training

Rabtt concluded its Rabtt Fellowship Cycle for 2014 with a Fellowship Training on January 31st & February 1st, 2015and certficiate distribution! The year-end fellowship training was more about Rabtt fellows and their journey after the Rabtt Fellowship Program. We had a group of amazing Fellows this year, who spent the last year building connections with the students which will remain there forever! It has been a memorable year and Rabtt thanks the Fellows who made it possible. Rabtt believes in building and strengthening human connections – only then we will be able to achieve our dream of a more empathetic Pakistan! The 2015 Rabtt Fellowship Cycle starts in Mid February! Stay tuned!

Rabtt Workshops

The second part of Rabtts school outreach program is continuing in full swing and picking up momentum. Rabtt is now conducting workshops that are building up on the curriculum taught in Rabtt Summer Camps. Continuing through the month of January, a Reading Skills Workshop was conducted at Saint John`s High School Yohannadbad along with a Thinking Skills at CDG Girls High School, Wahdat Colony, Lahore.

Imran Sarwar in Q&A with PJ Mir

Rabtt co founder Imran Sarwar was part of panel discussion with PJ Mir on Innovating Education in Pakistan. Key points were shared at World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. Other panelists included Qasim Aslam, Ayesha Kasuri and Ali Tareen. You can watch the full program HERE.

Salman Hayat – Monitoring & Evaluation OfficerRabtt welcomes our latest member! Salman Hayat has joined us as Monitoring & Evaluation Officer is a LUMS graduate with a double major in the Humanities and Political Science. Prior to joining Rabtt, Salman worked as a Research Assistant in the LUMS Law and Policy Department. His research – primarily ethnographic fieldwork and archival research – on land and water politics centered on how law is experienced and negotiated by economically marginalized communities in rural Punjab. He has also interned with the Justice Project Pakistan (JPP), as part of the Death Penalty Moratorium Project.
Anum Nawaz – Youth Ambassador at World Peace Caravan Our Manager Academics, Anum Nawaz has been selected as one of the Youth Ambassador at World Peace Caravan. As WPC Ambassador in Pakistan, she will be working on one of the UN Millennium Development Goals Community Project in Pakistan. She will be representing that in a conference in Jordan. Throughout the year she will be receiving online leadership training and networking sessions with other 11 ambassadors. Team Rabtt congratulates Anum on her selection and we wish her best of luck for her upcoming project!
